This 90cm furoshiki features the Temari motif, inspired by traditional Japanese temari balls. The rounded form symbolises femininity, gentleness, and harmony, carrying wishes for relationships to remain smooth and well balanced — that everything may come together in a good way.

Temari patterns are also believed to hold a protective meaning, traditionally seen as a charm that accompanies and safeguards women throughout their lives.

Each furoshiki is hand-dyed using traditional katazome techniques in Kyoto, where textile making has continued for over 110 years. Skilled artisans carefully dye each piece by hand, one by one, preserving time-honoured methods passed down through generations.

Beautiful and meaningful, this furoshiki is suitable for wrapping, carrying, or gifting, and can also be enjoyed as a decorative textile in the home.

Care

Machine washable.
Do not tumble dry, as this may cause shrinkage.
Dry in the shade.
Iron on medium heat using a pressing cloth or from the reverse side.
Colour transfer is minimal, though some fading may occur during the first wash. If concerned, wash separately for initial use.
